If your college student is struggling and you need help getting them on a better track, Aimee is your guardian angel. My son did well in his freshman year of college but started really slipping and struggling by sophomore and junior year, to the point he was so far behind and so apathetic this junior year, he stopped showing up to classes pretty much entirely. And I’ll note, this isn’t my son – he was a high honors student coming out of high school and not the type to do this- something was seriously wrong. When several different mental health fix attempts failed to help, and we started to consider pulling him out, I was lucky enough to run across a post from Aimee on a parents facebook group about her coaching service. I pulled the trigger and signed him up for her three month 1-1 sessions. I am so incredibly blessed and thankful I did. My son went from deep depression and totally failing college, to gradually pulling out of his tailspin and by today, excitement about school again and great grades to end the year. I’m honestly in awe and have so much hope for his future after finding her. What I also found profound about her, is when I was laid off two months into the program and forced to ask her to end off the last month until I could pick things up again- she wouldn’t have it and kept with the program. She had no idea when or if I’d pay her but didn’t care, she was determined to see my son through this. While I was able to pay her that last installment, this part of the story makes me tear up as you can really see the love and care she has for your child, and that you have a partner in their success at school. That’s priceless.
R couldn’t have completed this semester without your help. He seems to know what needs to be done now. He told me that the Calculus test last week was easy but I’m sure he was more prepared this time. Calculus is never easy.😊 Thank you so much for all your help and attention with R. He really likes the sessions with you. It made this semester less stressful for us and we are happy with the outcome.
Before starting coaching I felt lost and confused. I was very scared about making decisions small and large. I also had a looming sense of despair due to feeling lost. Covid combined with graduating high school was very difficult to get through. I didn’t know what my path was.
After starting coaching I feel that I have a better grasp on what I want out of life at this time. I have more tools and a better perspective to help me through my trials and tribulations. I found new passions that I could focus on and overall feel that I am growing every day.
The thing I picked up most from coaching was scheduling and structure. Before coaching I felt totally lost and I never knew where to start when I was trying to get through all of my incomplete tasks. I gained a way to organize and prioritize everything in my life, and I was never unsure of what I needed to do and when I needed to do anything.
Coaching taught me many useful tips for everyday life that appear to be simple at first glance but actually make a significant impact when used. Some of these tips seem almost like common sense, but it’s the actual implementation that works.”
Coaching gave me skills for surviving in a busy and stressful world, and not only time management skills, but emotional intelligence and self-regulating skills as well.
